Fruit and nut trees, berries and vines supplement our diet with so many delicious and healthy seasonal treats. Whether you’re setting up a home orchard, or a few dwarf trees in planter boxes, making sure the conditions are suitable is the key to success.
There’s nothing quite like the flavour of ripe, juicy & fresh fruit. Grow your own at home for maximum freshness and to add a range of vitamins and minerals to your diet. Most fruiting trees are a long term investment; so it’s crucial to give them the best start with the best soil for their needs.
there are TWO main options for your fruit crop soils. General Mix is a complete soil for perennial plants – ready to grow; and is designed for filling new raised beds or to be used as a complete planting soil. General Concentrate & Soil Builder is designed to be incorporated into existing soil to top up nutrients either when planting out, or to use under mulch to feed up existing and established trees & vines. For pots & containers smaller than about 100L, we recommend our Premium Potting Mix. If you need help or advice to choose what’s best for you – please contact us today!
For your fruit trees & plants to produce healthy crops, feeding them once or twice a year is important. Depending on what type of fruiting plants you're growing, we have a range of mineral and fertiliser products available to keep your garden healthy and productive.
Mulch is vital to the long term health of your garden; helping preserve precious moisture and nutrients in the soil. Plus, it smoothers weeds and looks good too! We have a number of mulch products that are suitable – depending on your situation and plant selection.
Unfortunately, a range of pests find your fruit just as tasty as you do! Management is key – keep an eye on the health of your plants, and intervene when necessary. Why use chemicals when there are more natural alternatives? We have a range of products that are either Certified Organic (or allowable in organic agriculture) to minimise pests & diseases.
